Hi Justin, I would pass on this if offered to me.
The sizes are odd and the construction is fairly sloppy. Look at the roundal.
Cheers, Ade.
Can anyone tell me if this is an authentic flag? Sorry if the pictures are bad.
Always looking for any squad, company, group or unit photos/postcards!

Does look sloppy. Could be because of the strange pictures. New pics are needed for a fair opinion.

Hi Justin, I am still unsure. I would stick to a more "textbook" looking example.
Cheers, Ade.
Hi Justin
I'm with Ade about getting a textbook example, however its not that I am saying its not Authentic, I have seen many flags & pennants that have been period homemade! Textbook example's are official sizes etc...
Have you done a burn test on a small piece of fabric to see if it is period or not?

Sorry I haven't posted with the burn test results...its been a crazy month..
According to the burn test it is cotton.

Hi Justin, this could just be one of those "oddball" items which is perfectly genuine, but as it is a non standard pattern it is very hard to quantify. There is just no yardstick to go by.
Being all cotton is certainly in it's favour.
I think the best we can say is, if you are happy with it, fair enoughAfterall, that is what counts, unless you are looking to turn it around for a sale, then "textbook" does come into play.
Cheers, Ade.
