    thanks guys, it is a dachau cap apparently, but its named and at the moment i cant decipher it so if any eagle eyes can make it out please do cheers Dave

    That's a great piece!
    Offtopic...Last year I met one old guy that wears cap like this one. Without insignia of course. He says that he didn't took it off since 1941. Here's a picture of him which I took with my cell.

    Hi Dave , love that cap . bet that won`t leave the collection for a while ! the embroidery is sweet . That name has a french twang to it and i wonder if he originated from the Alsace region ?
