    Hi Ade,
Nice Dagger mate! I too have just purchased a Kriegsmarine example with plain blade.I think its an Eikhorn maker as i remember it has a squirell mark and solingen at the top of blade. The gilt on my scabbard is much more worn than yours and it does'nt have the red felt anymore but not a bad example and defiantly original

Will post a thread as a follow up to yours

    Tom

    Thanks Dave.

Even though this dagger is not maker marked, I have been advised that the actual maker will be W.K.C. (Weyersberg, Kirschbaum & Co. Waffenfabrik, Solingen-Wald. ) going by the design of the pommel eagle and the red felt washer.

    Cheers, Ade.

    Guys,

According to Tom Wittmann, plain blades are associated with senior NCOs. These daggers were issued free where as Officers had to pay for theirs!

Tread really carefully here. These are much reproduced! I cannot advise much more than that. Never seen one I considered to be real.

    Cheers, Ade.
