    Gentlemen,

I just received this ushanka. I bought it in Germany from a guy that states it was a german vet bringback. The size is quite small, about a 53. No sign of a stamp. The star was one I had in my collection, as it came without one.

    I would appreciate your comments.

    Regards,

    Komandir,

Thanks for your reply. I watched a lot of photos and educated myself with the posts here before attempting to buy it. Thanks to you experts for the help.

What do you think about the star? Does it seem wartime to you?

    Regards,

    Gus

    The star is probably postwar.

The uschanka is very nice, but I agree with Azad- star is exact postwar example

Dimas, interesting thing - once I have wartime ushanka which was fulfilled by kind of hair instead of cotton wool.

    Dimas and Azad,

    Thanks for your answers.

I had the star from an old pilotka I bought years ago, it did not come with the ushanka. I will have to look for a wartime specimen to complete it.

Nice to confirm that the usnaka is a wartime specimen.

    Regards,

    Gus
