| Stug Radio unit.
Hello again.
I mentioned a while ago in a blog here that i had obtained a Radio unit from a certain famous Stug III that was dugout in Russia.I now have a couple of photo's of that together with the actual Radio itself before it was sent to me in 3 part's.
The Reciever was in bad shape as the Stug was upside down and full of water.I removed nearly 2.4kg's of corrosive dust mostly from the disolved plate under the face panel and buried it with military honour's in my own backyard.Being that the crew were still inside the vehicle therefore inside the Radio unit as well!
Firstly i only purchased the actual Reciever (or Emphanger) itself and then negotiated price for the rack and other empty Sender box.Somone ripped the interior of that out before it could be saved which is a shame but it was the more valuable part. They did'nt take the box which is a mystery but may have not know it could be removed together.
It's been in my collection for a couple of year's now and ive kept it mostly to myself. Now time to share an amazing piece of history and my collection centre piece.I have been a German armour buff since i can remember and this would have to be the ultimate item for me.
You know how it is when you want somthing so badly you could burst and when you get it you simply say 'okay next'.Sad realy but every so often you drag it out, sit it in front of you and say "THAT'S MINE!"
Well i am very proud of this piece and want to show fellow collector's.It was purchased directly from the guy's who recovered it and they are shown climbing into the Stug in one of the photo's when it was placed in a holding yard.
Basically it was stripped of everything except for basic hull and gun before being handed over to the Russian authority's. Now it reside's rusting in a Russian park as a child's play thing! What a way for such a Tank to be treated and i think it's woeful:(
Cheer's guy's:)

Now i have at last got a few minute's of my time to list some photo's and here's a few some member's have been waiting for.I will have to take another batch of some of my other relic's which are mostly packed away. That will include the badly holed Russian Helmet i mentioned quite some time ago.
Any question's you may have please feel free to fire away. I will list some in the general posting area also very soon:) Just added some new pic's of thing's as they were setup a while ago.
Cheer's to all.

| Leningrad M35
This a Bunker found M35 Helmet recovered from the Lenigrad front line's i think around 2006 and was found complete and as you see it here. The liner has never been removed from the Helmet and still retain's the washer's together with dirt and corrosion underneath. The liner seam has disolved together with the chin strap stitching but as it still has it's shape has stayed with the Helmet. It must have been buried the right way up and simply filled with water only as even the felt underneath is in good shape. There is the faint remain's of the former owner's name in pencil 'Peeters' under the inside flare to one side. Shell is marked NS 66 and batch number is only partly visable but i think it's 20 10 (unusual having a space in between no's).If you like this Helmet it is for sale by the way so feel free to ask any question's.
Hope you enjoy the pic's:)
