    Hello,

This is considered a Panzer ring. I have one that was dug at DEMJANSK, where the SS positions were.

These rings have no official connection with the SS or Heer Panzer forces. They were simply private purchase rings any soldier, sailor or airman could buy. They could be purchased via mail order from newspaper adverts or purchased in soldiers canteens.

Having said that, they were very popular with the SS and Heer Panzer forces due to the Deathshead connection.

    Great item by the way!

    Cheers, Ade.

This is a well known wartime pattern.. Most of them were 2 piece. The skull separate and affixed to the ring by pinning.
Does this ring have a pin or rivet in the band behind the skull or is it one of the one piece examples? Thanks ,G.
