    Default my great grandads

    Heres my two great grandads, one of them was in the manchester rgt and the other kings liverpools, they both survived one was wounded twice and my other was captured whilst going over the top ,he was lucky to survive as he was a machine gunner and apparently they were hated by the germans, i am still trying to find out which battle he was captured in, heres a few pics of them both even a pic of my kings liverpool gg sat in his prison uniform at the pow camp,apparently he escaped a few times but kept getting lost in the black forest if i remember correctly,rgds Dave

    Dave, that is fascinating family history

    If I had that sort of history in my family I would research it as far as visiting the site of the POW camp and then write a book !

    Heres the insignia from his woodbine tin the germans must have let him keep it, its the insignia of the 55 th div of kings liverpools, and heres a few items i found on my gg from manchesters, rgds Dave
