Fieldcap Waffen-SS black - tank units

Article about: Dear collector friends IMO this black SS field cap for tank units seems to be period. I also think that the eagle and skull are period. Thank you for your opinions.

    No more stiches - if you look closely you can see that there was a straight line of stiches (no zig-zag!) holding the previous insignia. That would explain the crude stitches that hold the lining - I think the lining was opened in order to sew the insignia on and then resewn.

    You have a sharp eye for detail, Erwesa!
    I suspected that the Insignia was a later addition, as it doesn't match the very well -worn condition of the cap itself...

    I believe that it's a Wartime Cap with Postwar-Applied Original SS Insignia...

    Trap is hand sewn to simulate machine stitching, I don't like it or perhaps a Heer m-43 with ss trap to jazz it up

    Thank you all very much for your great help! As an original Heer M-43 the colour was changed to black, correct?
