Here I present my recent acquisition.
Luckily I have the soldier's history.
Lieutenant Boryak Vladimir Polikarpovich "For the exemplary performance of the command's combat missions on the front of the fight against the Finnish White Guard and the valor and courage shown at the same time.
Granted on April 11, 1940.

I am certain this is him, as the birth year of 1912 is correct, as well as the birthplace of Ruchki, Poltava Oblast. The link also shows that he was awarded Order of the Red Banner. Because there are no mentions of it on the pamyat-naroda site, I would believe this was a long service award. The Order of the Red Banner was awarded for 20 Years of Service. As he joined the RKKA in around 1930/31, he would receive this in 1950/51. There is also ofcourse his Medal for Battle Merit that you have. His battle path is also evident, with the awards: Defence of Leningrad, Defence of Stalingrad, and Liberation of Warsaw. And naturally, the Victory over Germany Medal. On pamyat-naroda, there seem to be references for his Stalingrad, and Germany Medal. Feel free to have a look yourself. If you have any questions, you can ask them here. He is number 55. More interestingly written on recycled German card (But I have seen weirder... I once seen a list of awards written on a recycled card with Chinese text somewhere!)
He is number 7.
And here are the two portraits linked to Boryak, V.P. - I think both might be him, but they look very different. Is it different men, or just war aging?
Ears are like fingerprints and I dont't think the one we can see match here

i dont understand. what are you talking about Peter L?
If ou are tring o determin if it is the same person in the pictures you can compare the shape and windlings of the ears, tha are as distinctive as fingerprints. i don't think the right ears match in theses 2 photos

I think they do match.
In this case, it might be difficult to see if one or two is indeed Boryak. There are some similarities, but some other things are different.
Thank you very much Vasonaritz for the information you have provided. It is really interesting and helps me a lot to give more context and history to this medal. I took a look at pamyat naroda when I bought it last month, but there wasn't much information on it.
Regarding the photographs...I do think that it is the same man, several years apart and a war involved...hahahah
