Article about: Despite all my years of interest in WW2 I hadn’t noticed that there was an aeroplane on this landing craft. It looks like an L4 Grasshopper. Interestingly I can’t seem to find a lot abou

It's definitely not June 6th. If they are indeed off loading a Normandy, the troops are not
being fired upon. The are just calmly walking ashore. Also, at the 50 sec mark in the clip,
there is a civilian standing on the beach in the upper left corner.

A L4 only weighs 640 lbs. A handful of guys can easily pick one up and carry it if need be.

To bad my neighbor is not still alive, I would ask him about this.
He flew L4s as a liaison / forward observer for Patton

From right to left; USS LST-380, USS LST-284, USS LST-499, and USS LST-382 at Brixham Harbour, England, 1 June 1944, loading up with equipment ready for the cross channel invasion.
