Sorry its not original , I am not sure what helmet the cover is from but it does not look like its from a US M1 helmet .I think whoever done the art work has seen one to many Vietnam war films
Hahaha, thank you very much for your reply. As I live in South Korea, it might even be a South Korean helmet cover...
I mean, i guess it might look cool as a display piece haha
For 20.00 it will make for a good display piece.
I collect original graffiti covers and for every 1000 reproductions you find an original one.

I actually found out that the helmet cover is original and the writings on the helmet was done by the veterans about 10 years after the war at a reunion, which makes this... semi real/fake? I was able to get in contact with the South Korean officer whos serial number was listed on the helmet! The cover is actually a South Korean version of the helmet cover for the South Korean bangtan helmet, not a M1 helmet cover, which is why it does not have a flaps on the side!
Just realized the writings are from 1985 during a 10 year anniversary of the soldiers coming home, written on a helmet cover for a South Korean M76 ballistic helmet, hence why the cover did not have the flaps. So, I guess this isnt from the Vietnam war, but is original written by the veterans at the very least! I was able to contact the lieutenant who wrote his number down on the helmet cover with the help of my Korean friends(who speak better Korean than me). He said he and his friends wrote on the helmet cover at an anniversary event.
Good job on the research
