I got this two piece unmarked HJ buckle, these HJ variants are rare and habitually are M4/27 or RZM 63 marked, this one are all Overhoff characteristics: box, post/prongs assembly… but without maker mark, the box is nickel over brass and the roundel nickel over steel
    Opinions are welcome
    Thanks

    Ivan,
a very very rare buckle indeed! The two piece HJ buckles should have never been produced per the regulations. HJ buckles were to have always been a 1 piece design mostly likely due to durability concerns. The only sanctioned 2 piece HJ was during the short period where DJ buckles were converted by 3 manufacturers to HJ. I believe that when this period was complete that the manufacturers used up left over stocks of roundels by making unsanctioned 2 piece HJ buckles. They are so much more rare than the DJ to HJ conversion buckles. They are probably the most rare of all HJ type buckles.

There are only 3 makers that I am aware of that made 2 piece HJ (non DJ Conversion)
    1- Overhoff
    2- Berg & Nolte
    3- R Thiel
There was cooperation between Overhoff and Berg & Nolte in this endeavor as I have a double marked 2 piece HJ which was stamped by both.
