The frog is prewar and only shortly used by LW with secure strap, normally LBA marked frogs dont have a secure strap as on mounted units, and since 1940 the color was changed to black, which means the document is old and not updated here.

    Hello,

    1. frogs with and without secure straps were used by the Luftwaffe until the end of the war. Who should carry which frog was determined by decree. These were published in the Luftwaffeverordungsblatt (Luftwaffe Ordinance Gazette). The equipment changed every now and then.

    2. This also changed as the needs and equipment also changed. That's why I wrote FROM 1935. You have an old edition. You need all of them to draw conclusions.
The first frogs without hilt straps appeared in 1935 and did NOT have a short middle seam.

In 1936, the long middle seams of the army version were adopted for a short time.

The short centre seam came from 1936/37.

As the war progressed, manufacturers simply used rivets instead of a short center seam. Easier to make.

When the Luftwaffe Felddivisionen - Luftwaffe field divisions - were set up from 1942 onwards, 3 large manufacturers also produced frogs with a short center seam AND hilt straps.

    3. The LBA stamp was largely eliminated from 1940/41. There were rational reasons for this. There were no regulations. Stamping takes time. There were also other logistics routes, i.e. the tens of thousands of frogs were not hoarded in the depots for a long time and stamped there. Frogs and other equipment were only stamped sporadically. The last one I have is from around 1944.

Otherwise, the normative force of the factual applies. All frogs before 1940/41 with a chocolate brown color and a short central seam have an LBA stamp and can therefore be attributed to the Luftwaffe.
