if I look in this list of Names of Dutch men in the Waffen SS .....
Nederlanders in dienst van de Waffen-SS – www.ndwss.nl

I do not find that name.... Which does not mean he did not excist because list is not complete.... But I see already a warning signal....

searching for a list of the iron cross 2nd class..... that name should be there if real.... https://www.tracesofwar.com/awards/8...t&abc=W&page=4 in the thousands of names NObody with the name Ernst WYS ( or Weis or wijs )

    No idea to be honest....
i was wondering why a 3 voluntary legion soldier gets a document signed by the 2 nd infantary brigade ,

But that seems correct : "In 1942, the 19th and 21st Latvian Security Battalions from the Latvian Legion were attached to the Brigade. The brigade now included Dutch, Flemish and Norwegian volunteer legions" ...

In the autogram is written : " ss brigade fuhrer und General major der Waffen SS" which made me also doubt but apparently this was the same rank written in two different ways...... So that i scorrect..... ( this is not helping ). Would search then for that autograph.... according to the web this would be Karl von Fischer-Treuenfeld

Signature looks OK? ink and typing? but there is no record of the soldier online...
Don't know what to do, if legit or not...

And here is his name at the top of the official Verleihungsliste for the award, confirming unit and date. It also gives you his date and place of birth.
