    Hello, I recently purchased this set of WW1 German infantry putees and what should be a WW1 german spork. They seem good to me but i would welcome your opinions on them please, just to be sure! Thanks for looking, Andreas.

    Hi Andreas,

    You don’t see so many examples of Imperial German WW1 Gamaschen, but from what I have seen these look good. Not 100% sure about the Spork as I’ve not really looked at these much, but I’m sure someone will chime in shortly.

    Just to add, the spork looks good but I'll check some references to confirm and get back to you.

    Yes, it looks fine. The main difference between the Imperial German and WW2 is that the WW1 version was made of steel and the WW2 made of aluminium. The WW1 version also has a squared end to the spoon as your example does. Here’s a picture for reference.

    thank you for your time and effort , good to know the differences , yes my one is out of steel ,thought that would be a give away but forgot to mention it.
