    Hi all,
Asking for a friend, What you guys think of this fallschirmjäger Helmet,
I would definitely say it's a repro as it's missing most stamps on the rim, there is only on stamp which looks dodgy, not an expert with helmets so looking for your opinion, he got it with other helmets as a bulk buy so wanted to find out if there is chance to be real or not, maybe there ware late ware helmets without stamps etc
As always thank you all for you help and knowledge

    Post war helmet, not repro.

Used by Police and experimented with by the Airborne troops of the Bundeswehr.

Thank you Emile, would you know the name of it etc trying to find what's the worth of it?

These helmets are hard to come by. So I guess it will make a rather high price. The model name I have never heard of. I would simply describe it as a post war M38 clone for use by GSG9 and KSK Polizei.

Commonly referred to by collectors as a GSG9 helmet. The one in your pictures has the early wartime type liner, although the later ones were quite different - but the chinstrap assembly remained basically the same.

Thanks Steve, and what are the main differences between this and and WW2 one ? Any specific change in design or just stamps and decals ?

The shell of the WW2 helmet has a rolled edge to the rim, whereas the post war helmet has a thin metal rim folded over the edge and spot welded in place.

    Cheers,
    Steve
