Good early knife. I have no problem with the hilt made from iron/steel.
I think the insignia is replaced.
Cheers, Ade.

iron/steel=good,OK..:-D
I find= RZM M7/1 Gebruder Christians,Christianswerk Solingen
Early Manufacturer!I see as if glue! Maybe replacement? Old this knife was maybe HJ knife or original student?Good question!..:-D
The Insignia is wrong & replaced there was never a factory made knife for The National Socialist League of the German Student's, should be hj insignia for this early knife.
your hj knife is an origional early one, the hilt/fingerguard are solid steel & nickle plated, later hj knifes hilt/fingerguard were made from Zinc & poor nickle plating.

Hi Mac, Im not really up on the NSDSTB but here is a link to a thread that Datrus requested information some time ago,, and i know you would be the best judge on the existence of the Student bund knife. Correct me if Im wrong,, or if I am misunderstanding your posted reply. I do agree that the grip insignia was replaced. Regards Larry

Hi Larry, i myself do not believe these knifes were period factory produced for the studentbund but maybe some were altered "custom fitted" to order during the period, i have never came across any solid proof that these ever were period peices & most you see are denazified hj knifes with the studentbund insignia fitted but mostly glued into the grip recess.

At present, I am firmly in the non believers camp when it comes to these as factory made.
Cheers, Ade.

O ye of such little faith. I think that you probably also don’t believe in the blue diamond Marine-Hitler-Jugend knives, or the green Forst-Jugend knife that a well known U.S. dealer has for sale (unsold the last time I looked a month or two ago). And we know that it has to be good because he says so. Fred
Why, I can't Imagine which dealer you're talking about, Fred.... *cough*
