I found this knife for sale locally, but I am unsure if it is a genuine HJ knife, or a post war scout knife - any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello Kurby,
scabbard is not Original. I can not read the Maker Mark, but a late Period like this one should be Marked with an RZM Stamp.
I dont have much Experience with HJ Knives, but i would pass on this one.
I know the Prices are really high for a nice HJ at the Moment, but save some more Money and buy a nice mid or early Example.
You will not have Problems reselling a good Textbook Example in the Future.
Looks like post-war Scout Knife with the fleur de lis removed.
If that is a Hubertus maker mark, it is a post war knife.
The sheath is definitely post war due to the lip at the throat.
Maybe a $50. knife on a good day.
Ralph.

Thanks folks, I had my suspicions - I will avoid!
Recently discussed these repros in another thread is that is what it is. Purchased a HJ look alike knife back in the 60s sans the swastika of course. Been stamping out more of this post war stuff for longer than I thought.
Obviously made from the same dies as a HJ dagger, but the lack of swastika diamond, and "Blut und Ehre" inscription, I would tend to think it's post war, or "de-Nazified" It's still a great piece.
As Mauser9 points out a recent thread discussed the Hubertus post war scout knives, like this one.
I picked up a mint post war scouts knife to actually use it. But it was so nice it just went in the display cabinet![]()
"Please", Thank You" and proper manners appreciated
