Article about: That depends really Dagon, i can read the printed words on the death cards but actual handwritting can be a totally different matter, it can be quite difficult sometimes but i could try

    Yes, I know these from modern graves, we had a few made when family members passed away, but I was not aware this usage dates back so long ago.
    Probably removed from the stone after the war, at the time when a German uniform with Hoheitszeichen became less popular for reasons unspecified, but obvious?

    Anton Schmidl has not yet been transferred to a military cemetery established by the War Graves Commission.
    According to the information available to us, his grave is currently still at the following location: ehem.Jugoslawien nicht zugeordnet (Former Yugoslavia).

    I would like to give a big thank you to Rose who very kindly sent me this death card and a couple of other awesome pieces, it is appreciated!
