This guy has been to hell and back. Here's what I've deciphered:
Heinrich Steinle, born in January 12, 1920.
*Entered conscript service in Mannheim, August 17, 1939
(3./Inf.- Erst.Btl.107)
*Further service in 7.Inf.- Rgt.118 (mot.)
*Awards: Iron Cross 2. Klasse (August 15, 1942), Iron Cross 1. Klasse (December 5, 1942),
Wound badge in Silber (August 3, 1942), Wound badge in Gold (October 15, 1942), Ostmedaille (December 1942).
*Promotions: Gefreiter (April 1, 1942) and Unteroffizier (final rank, September 1, 1942)
*In the frontlines of Barbarossa: participations in numerous battles in Lithuania and Russia, Lake Ilmen, Leningrad and Moscow.
*Heavily wounded with shrapnel to his entire body, was released from active service in 1/XII Mainz on April 15, 1944.
